What do Funeral Directors Say?
I love working with Funeral Directors. Most directors I know are funny and fascinating people who work tirelessly to help families in times of emotional fragility. Some local Funeral Directors have written down their thoughts regarding my work:
- Doug has been our pastor of choice for families in need of such services for the last two years. We have found his personality, professionalism and ability to place families at ease and connect with them to be excellent. I have used Doug in difficult situations to include unexpected deaths, suicide and dysfunctional families. Doug has provided traditional Christian services as well as nontraditional celebrations of life for those who do not haver religion in their lives. Doug's ability to bring healing and comfort to families is remarkable. At the conclusion of his services most, if not all of his families has expressed their gratitude for his comforting remarks and his ability to connect with the majority of the people in attendance. I have personally heard family members state "this is the best funeral service that I have ever attended--I hope Doug is around when it is my time!" We have also used Doug now as our main speaker at our annual Service of Remembrance in December for the last two years. Doug adds that perfect ingredient to our candle lighting ceremony that encourages people to participate and makes it "safe" for impromptu participation. Doug comes with my highest recommendation.
*Brian Norris, Funeral Director, Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes
- I have known Doug McCleary for nearly three years, and have used him to officiate services at our chapel many times. Doug is a talented celebrant who truly cares about our “calling” and the families we serve. He is personable, professional and empathetic—reliable and dynamic. It would be my privilege to recommend him to anyone in need.
*Joe Henry Koons, LELFSP, Springer and Son Aloha Funeral Home
- "When I meet with families who do not have an officiate in mind, my first recommendation is Doug McCleary. I am not easily impressed, nor am I interested in sacrificing my client families' experience by using someone I do not trust. When I make a recommendation to a family it definitely reflects on the level of service I am providing as well as on my own character and integrity. The verbiage I use is, "If you do not have an officiate in mind, I know one who I am very comfortable recommending." Doug has made my services personal and unique to the individual, and wonderfully memorable for my client families. Praises all around."
*Crystal Mai Friedrich, Funeral Home Manager and Director, Lincoln Memorial
- Doug McCleary has a way of connecting with families which I have never experienced with any other celebrant or clergyperson. He meets each family at their own individual level and goes far beyond what is expected of him in order to serve each family in a way that leaves them most satisfied. I would trust him with my own mother's service.
*Michael Dean, Funeral Director/Embalmer, Lincoln Memorial
